Wake Up America

It's Time to See Through the Bullshit:

Today a friend of mine made a comment asking about what WAKE UP AMERICA means. Here is the comment in its original form:

“Well ok...but then what? These social media campaigns are aces and all, but does anyone have anything to add other than "wake up America!"? Perhaps that statement would be more effective if it's followed with a way to promote this enlightenment, rather than repeating an ambiguous demand.”

Here is the best response I can come up with to that question. What is the first thing you do when you wake up? You open your eyes, you see what is going on around you, and you do something. My call of Wake Up America I hope is going to get people (1 or 2 at a time) to hopefully open their eyes, and see that there are things that need to be fixed, while at the same time, opening their minds with the idea of being able to work together as one group to find the problems and create the solutions to these problems that confront us on a moment to moment basis.

A huge part of the problem is the people who say "nothing ever changes".

Breaking News: Hey people the reason nothing ever changes is because of you who say nothing ever changes and then do nothing to find solutions that can fix the problems thereby making them worse.

You say nothing ever changes, and here is where I prove you wrong, things are changing, look around you, 4 dead Marines and 1 dead Sailor in Chattanooga in an incident that should be considered an act of domestic terrorism, the rare free roaming illegal aliens by the millions with at least one dead body in their wake, police officers who get shot simply because they got out of their cars after a 911 call, the black man shot by the biased white police officer, the Christian owner of a bakery gets sued for not baking a wedding cake for a same sex couple, why did they refuse? Because they as the owners of that particular business believed, apparently incorrectly, that they had the right to refuse service to anyone, and then we have religious and personal intolerance that permeate our society just to name a few of the more prevalent serious issues that we see regularly.

The fact is things are changing, and they are getting worse. It can change for the better if we can all learn to work together across all cultural, ethnic and religious lines. Now the question becomes how do we make this happen? Solution: Wake up.

Q: What does "wake up" mean exactly?

A: Just that, wake up.

We as a nation have been lulled to sleep by the political machine that pumps out the same shit by the second, the fact that there is so much political bull shit is what is putting us to sleep. Our news outlets are spinning stories the way they choose to make one side look better or worse depending on the political climate, or perhaps it is because they are attempting to sidetrack us from the more important issues of the day.

Our elected “leadership”, are servants of the American people, yet they tell us what we can and cannot do without our consent, I recently saw something that fits in well with this thought, a license is a right the government takes from you and then rents it back to you on a temporary basis.

Ideally before any law gets enacted it should be voted on by every American citizen of legal voting age.

Does anyone else not see that the federal government is once again over reaching in their authority? For instance: boating and fishing is banned on certain waters in several different states all because the waterline fluctuates. There is a ban on the sale of children's books printed more than 25 years ago, why? Because lead may have been used in the making of the ink for these books. Collecting rain water, but wait until you hear the reason behind this one; "The practice which is called "water harvesting” is probably older than fire, but according to Colorado officials it is an undisputed case of theft. When it rains the water hits the ground, burrows deep inside it and fuels underground reservoirs or rivers, the use of which is heavily controlled by the government. So if you collect water you are in essence “stealing” the rain water provided by God, you are indeed slowly cutting off the government’s source of income, which not only makes you a criminal, but also an anarchist, hippy and probably even a draft dodger!" Seriously! The use of unpasteurized milk and cheese, also a no no. There is one court that has banned using any bot program while playing an online multiplayer game. Just to name a few of the more ridiculous laws enacted somewhere in America.

This political correctness shit is killing us, figuratively for sure and possibly even literally as well. Since when have Americans been afraid to offend people outside of our own borders? Why should we be worried about offending those inside of our own borders?

Q: Why offer enlightenment to others when it is only hampered by their cognitive dissonance which won’t allow them to hear or accept it?

A: Yes, this is a real problem but the trick is to not give up, never give up, on the hope of reaching someone with an open mind. An idea is like a seed that you plant, and God willing it begins to grow, during which time it starts attracting like minded individuals. Eventually the idea becomes an institution and the institution becomes a reality. A great nation was founded on this exact system of growth and I want it back. We all should!

Q: Why should I care about this now? I mean, I served my country already and if a revolution comes they had better stay off of my lawn because it just may affect my retirement checks.

A:  I don't know if you are serious or not so let me ask you a couple of quick questions; what if a revolution comes upon us and this revolution was calling to put the US Constitution back where it belongs as the highest legal authority and founding document? Where would you stand then sir? No offense, I am just asking.
Are you a military veteran? Yes. Do you remember the oath you took upon entry into military service? Did that oath have an expiration date on it? Because mine didn’t! And because of that oath America is my lawn! It is your lawn too, whether you are right next door or all the way across the country as citizens of this republic you, me, we all have a duty to stand up and be counted. If you don’t feel the call of that duty then I believe something didn’t translate properly from military to civilian.

Q: What if there is someone who believes that our nation is on its last leg as a free society and the upcoming elections (no matter how irrelevant) are only going to put the final nail in America's proverbial coffin. Should this person be approached?

A: Yes! Approach with caution, but approach none the less. These are the people we need to “save”. America is not a lost hope, not yet! If we sit back and do nothing then we are doomed, if we stand up and stand together we can save this republic from those who seek to destroy it. Tell them that you are standing up for the Constitution only, not the government. Do your best to give them hope, but never give up. Remember, our duty is, not was, to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Q: If this is so important to you why are you only doing this on the internet?

A: It isn’t only or just on the internet. Although it is primarily on the internet I use the internet as music groups used radio when I was a child, as a means of communicating a message to the masses quickly. However, I do print several copies of these messages to pass out for my technologically challenged friends. Word of mouth is the strongest advertising available, and best yet it is free.

These people that I pass my messages to come back and ask for more copies for their friends. So the messages are getting out there and the hope is that like minded individuals can come together in the hope of saving America. Starting at a grass roots level, while being hard work, makes it all the more satisfying to see something grow, I haven’t made it to grass roots yet to date this is just a seed seeking fertile soil. Someday, maybe, just not right now.

Q: Ok, I get it, but how?

A: By any peaceful means available and within limits of course. Use your voice, speak out about what you see, start a blog as I have done, use the spare time to research what is coming out of our government supposedly in our name. Find a like minded group and join, start a group if you need to. Protest whenever possible, but do so peacefully. Donate money to a foundation in support of all of America if you can and time if you cannot. Anything is better than nothing.

Q: Why are you suddenly interested in politics?

A: This isn’t sudden by any means. I have been watching and reading the news for years and keeping up on current events. It isn’t that I am political; I am an American who has come to realize that someone needs to stand up and say enough already. If that makes me political then I guess I am. I am the lone voice that no one ever seems to hear until it is too late. I am the person who has no political goals what so ever, what I want is my country to become great again. I want people of all colors, religious beliefs, sexual orientation and social status to realize that We are being taken advantage of by the very same people we elected into office. I am a veteran, and as such believe that our military service members are best capable of defending themselves. Especially when they are at work whether they are recruiters, drill sergeants, or working on a military installation. Arm our service members no matter where they are.

It seems like anytime a group of people try to spark something they get shouted down and called extremists of some sort. "Fucking hippies" "Damn tree huggers" "those damn liberals."

Yeah, I remember all of the epithets that have been cast back and forth between groups throughout American history. I have had more than a few of these cast in my direction as well, most have been untrue, but hey for that brief moment in time I had your attention. This is part of the problem, the division of this country stems from such vague lumping of individuals in categories because they just don’t fit in your world. Wake up and see that though we may disagree on some things we agree on more.

We have become a very complacent (and lazy) society. Sharing or ignoring a vague message on social media is much easier than taking action. This is Slacktivism at its best.

I love this statement. It reaches right to the heart of the matter and invents a new word at the same time. Another problem, even when it is as simple as to depress 2 small buttons on their keyboard these people will still fail to act.

I just think if we're all going to pull together, we need to know what we can do once we're all on board. I think it can mean attending protests, donating time and/or money etc.

Petition, we still have the right to petition our government for a redress of grievances. Letter writing campaigns still work though archaic, but if you combine the written (pen and paper) and written (internet messaging) this could flood our servants in Washington DC.

Once we are all on board we will need to work even harder to get the message out. This is when the government becomes worried. This is when the message is at its strongest and so should be Americas resolve.

I think it should be wake up America and wake up Christians let's take our country back from the EVIL that will overcome us!

This is part of the division of America that irritates the crap out of me. Why should the message be limited to just Americans who may not be Christians? I am sure there are patriotic Americans out there who are of other religious beliefs or without any religious beliefs at all. Why should this be another barrier to the freedom we all seek and that our forefathers provided for us? A united America is something I hope comes back around some day preferably before I die so I can see it.

There are two sides to this and they are the problems and solutions. Problems exist because people refuse to sit down and reasonably discuss the issues at hand. Problems exist because we allow them to. And problems exist because nobody wants to do anything to fix them. These are the people bringing us down.

Solutions are sought and found by those who seek the means to discover what the problem is and dig deeper to find what needs to be done to solve it.

Simply put you are either part of the problem or part of the solution.

I read somewhere recently that if you really want to thank a veteran the best way is to be the kind of American worth fighting for. If you want to thank this veteran be that American. See what is really happening behind the curtain. Not that we will ever truly see all of it.

After just FIVE days, and I guess we should be glad that it only took five days Our national embarrassment (Obama), after taking his sweet damn time finally took his opportunity to decide that maybe, just maybe,  it would be an appropriate gesture for our “leader” to order the flag flown at half-staff in honor of the four Marines and one Sailor killed in the latest attack by an Islamic Extremist in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Over these same five days, Obama has found time to celebrate the final day of Ramadan; a Muslim holiday for those who didn’t know and the very holiday that served as an incentive for increased attacks, play golf again; as it seems he does every time something of national significance happens, and attend a DNC fundraiser, yet he has failed to find the time in these five days to call the families of the fallen Servicemen my brothers in arms. Someone please tell me why has this all come before the condolence calls to the families of the fallen heroes?

These men served in the most vulnerable of our Military facilities - our recruiting offices and Reserve Centers. Why are they so vulnerable? This is all thanks to a bullshit law enacted in 1992; these recruiting facilities are gun-free zones as are our military bases. Why? It seems it is because our leadership really doesn’t appreciate what an active duty service member, veteran or retiree has done for our nation or trust them enough to carry weapons for defense. Do you know what a "gun free zone" really is? A shooting gallery for armed people with less than honorable intentions and guns.

Yet rather than seek emergency relief from this completely bullshit law, what does our pc-minded DOD do? It recommends that perhaps our proud, professional Military personnel working in these facilities consider no longer wearing their uniforms to work! Wrong choice DOD, this should be considered a criminal act. Telling someone who is defending their country not to wear their work clothes, uniforms, to work. Yeah that will solve the problem.

The attacks against our military forces in the United States have all been during working hours, with our service men in their appointed place of duty. What the Fuck? Screw that! How about we quit with this BOHICA (Bend Over Here It Comes Again, for all my civilian friends) bullshit, and while we are at it lets quit backing down from anything and everything.

Fuck all of this political correctness bullshit, call our enemy by name and for what it is, and let's Wake up, stand up, and start acting like the Americans we have been and rightfully should be? Our enemy is RADICAL ISLAMIC EXTREMISM. Say it with me now Radical Islamic Extremism. Our President won't, And it is time we Demand that he as our duly appointed leader start doing his job and attack the problem, not trying to sign nuclear treaties with it! How smart does the idiot we elected to lead us make us look as a nation? Not very with Barry!

So now you know why I tag my posts Wake up America. I speak only for myself, at least until others start waking up and letting me know that I am also voicing their thoughts and sentiments.

I believe that if enough people start screaming Wake up America then maybe we as a nation will band together and say we have had enough already. Stand up and do what needs to be done to fix the damage done to our nation. That is why I say Wake up America. One lone voice from an unknown is like that one last vote in an election year. Change can only happen if we as Americans wake up and band together against those in office who seek to tear us apart as a nation.

Suggestions are always welcome about messages. I would like to say thanks to the people whose comments are either paraphrased or purposely misquoted. I will not name them out of respect to them. There is strength in numbers, and hopefully these numbers grow.

Thank you and good night. Peace

After Thought:

This was something else that came from out of left field, but I believe every word of what is written here. If this offended any of your delicate sensibilities then you can do several things the least of which is to fuck off.

Just something to think about. Peace
